The tools you need for this project are quite minimal. Just a set of tiny, precision screwdrivers will do fine. The precision screwdriver set, sometimes called the jeweler s screwdriver set, should have at least two flat-head screwdrivers, one of which should be twice as big as the other.

Layer 0 is the default layer in SketchUp (Fig. 2-35). Whenever a face, line, or edge is drawn in SketchUp, it should be drawn on Layer 0. (Make sure the Layer Dialogue box has a little black dot on to the left of Layer 0.) Modeling on Layer 0 will prevent drawn faces and edges from ending up on other layers and from conflicting with geometry as more detail is added.

You can enforce both of these provisions in the Edit Privilege Set dialog shown in Figure 19-9, assuming that the users privilege set allows them to modify their own password. (We recommend that you enable user-changeable passwords in all but a very few specific cases, such as an account shared by multiple users.)

he first time I fully appreciated the power of frames, I was visiting a site that displayed examples of what the Webmaster considered bad Web pages. The site was essentially a jump-station with a series of links. The author used a frameset with three frames: one that ran all the way across the top of the page, displaying a logo and other basic information; one narrow panel on the left with a scrolling set of links to the sites themselves; and the main viewing area, which took up two-thirds of the center screen. Selecting any of the links caused the site to appear in the main viewing frame. I was astounded when I finally realized that each frame was truly an independent Web page and that you didn t have to use only Web pages on your own site you could link to any page on the Internet. That was when I also realized the amount of work involved in establishing a frame Web site: Every page displayed on that site used multiple HTML pages. Be aware that the use of frames is controversial. Designers who are opposed to their use give a number of reasons One argument is that dealing with frames often confuses users, especially as they navigate through a site. Another reason cited by designers is that search engines have difficulty indexing a frame-based site. Nonetheless, frames are valid HTML, and Dreamweaver does support their use.

Regardless of which of the five interpolation methods you use on a per-image basis, you can set one of them in Preferences as your default choice. Setting this preference can be very useful because the interpolation method is employed not only when an image is resized which includes resizing content on a layer but also when it is rotated (other than 90 degrees) or transformed. To set the default, open Preferences and in the General screen select a method from the Image Interpolation pop-up dialog box (Figure 2-40).
