Create the path that you want to turn into 3-D. I chose a path to indicate a sign. 4. Choose Effect 3D Extrude & Bevel to display the 3D Extrude & Bevel Options dialog box, as shown in Figure 16.14. 5. Click Map Art to display the Map Art dialog box, as shown in Figure 16.15. In this dialog box, you can see the number of surfaces on the object, starting with surface 1. 6. Choose the surface that you want to map.

This display setting (shown in Figure 3-21) is best used when fields are not moved on or off the report, but rather to different areas of the PivotTable. Under this configuration, the Report Filter area may be used as a parking lot for storing fields that are not used in the PivotTable, but need to be accessible to the report user.

If your solution files are hosted (multi-user), backup copies can be generated only on the computer on which the files reside. The script shown under the previous topic includes a check to confirm that the file is hosted on the current computer before it creates a backup copy. If your solution is hosted using FileMaker Pro, you need to ensure that the backup procedure is completed at regular intervals. If you re using FileMaker Server to host your solution, you can use the option (recommended) to create automatic backup schedules. FileMaker Server 9 and 10 also provide the means to automatically verify the integrity of each backup file after it s created and to generate an e-mail notification confirming task completion. Regardless of the way your solution is hosted, a separate procedure to transfer the backup files to an appropriate secure location is required. FileMaker Server includes the ability to schedule OS-level scripts. If you create an appropriate script on the host computer to archive and/or transfer backups to a secure location, you ll be able to schedule it to run after each backup has been created.

Because the data in a recovered file may not exactly match the data in the original file (damaged records may have been omitted, deleted records reinstated, or duplicates included), if you opt for making a clone, you should expect to comprehensively check the resulting data set s completeness and accuracy. Unless your most recent backup is well out of date, the combined effort to recover, re-import, and verify your data will likely be greater than the work of re-entering information to bring a backup up to date.

There are literally too many improvements to mention and this book is already heavy enough but here are a few of the most notable: n Revamped, easier to manage Insert bar with fewer categories and objects. n New document dialog to accommodate the new CSS starter pages and an increasing number of supported page types (Figure 1-5). n Integrated Adobe Help with cross-product search capabilities. n Support for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV connection types. n The ability to drag user panels from one group to another has been returned. n Full path for each document appears in a tooltip when the user s mouse hovers over a document tab. FIGURE 1-5
To modify the Button Text, type new text into the Button Text box in the Property Inspector and press Enter (Return).
Select this option to defer PivotTable updates when you are making changes in the Field List Figure 3-7: Deferring layout updates can reduce delays when working with large, complex PivotTables.
Using Frames and Framesets

Be sure to examine the sample report layout thumbnail on the right side of the dialog. It shows how the selected field(s) will be grouped. As in the other parts of the New Layout/Report Assistant, you can change the order of the grouping fields by dragging them up or down.
The Duplicate Frames dialog box is very similar to the Add Frames dialog box, shown previously in Figure 23-3.
