A discretization scheme usually de nes a heterogeneous collection of mesh entities, for example, nodes and elements in a nite element mesh. 14.5 Neutron Shielding
To display a visual style in AutoCAD, choose View Visual Styles. You have the following preset options: 2D Wireframe: Displays objects in the familiar wireframe display, with no shading and the 2D UCS icon. It uses the 2D model space background (black by default). 3D Wireframe: Displays objects in wireframe, along with a shaded UCS icon. It uses the 3D parallel or perspective background, which by default is gray or shades of gray. (I explain these backgrounds later in this chapter.) 3D Hidden: Hides the display of back edges and faces. Conceptual: Shades the objects using the Gooch face style, which uses a gradation of cool and warm colors. The effect is somewhat cartoon-like, but can make details of your objects easier to see. Realistic: Shades the objects. This option displays materials that you have attached to the objects if materials are turned on. (You turn materials and textures on and off in the Materials control panel of the Dashboard. I discuss materials in detail in 25.) If you are not working with materials, you ll get the clearest display with objects that are not black/white. These visual styles are easy to access in the Visual Style control panel of the Dashboard, as shown in Figure 22-12. Any custom visual styles that you create are also available here.
