Figure 49-5: Microsoft Smart Searching Web Service bindings detail. Caution While this book was being written, the UDDI nodes at Microsoft and IBM were still very immature. The search capabilities on the Microsoft node had several bugs, and both sites had few businesses registered. This is a new technology, and it appears that some patience will be required before these registries become truly useful to the average developer. If you are not using Visual Studio to build or consume Web Services, you should become familiar with the facilities provided by the UDDI business registry nodes. Over time, these sites will provide one-stop-shopping for high-quality Web Services that you can incorporate into your custom solutions. Finding Web Services with Visual Studio Visual Studio provides integrated support for finding Web Services via the Add Web Reference dialog box (available from the Project menu), and it can find Web Services (and, ultimately, Web Service descriptions) using disco or UDDI. When you add a Web reference, Visual Studio copies the Web Service discovery documents and the WSDL document to your local project folder. Then it generates a Web Service proxy class automatically, adding the results to a Web References section in the Solution Explorer window. A Web Service proxy class exposes the methods of the Web Service and handles the marshalling of appropriate arguments back and forth between the Web Service and your application. Visual Studio uses the WSDL document of the Web Service to generate the proxy class in the same language as the rest of your project. Visual Studio automatically creates and maintains discovery documents (using the .vsdisco extension) for Web Service projects that you create in Visual Studio. In addition to the discovery document that is created in the virtual directory of the Web Service, Visual Studio creates a discovery document in the Web server root directory named Default.vsdisco. As you create Web Services, Visual Studio updates this discovery document with references to your project-specific Web Service discovery documents. To open the Add Web Reference dialog box, choose Add Web Reference from the Project menu in Visual Studio. The Add Web Reference dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 49-6.

Figure 19-7: The keyboard view of the Options dialog box allows you to assign shortcuts to any available command. I'll get to the Options dialog box soon, but because the Keyboard view affects commands, I'll address it here. The Keyboard mapping scheme drop-down list shows a list of all current keyboard schemes. Each scheme holds a complete set of keyboard options. This is the same information you saw in the My Profile view of the Start Page. You can't overwrite the default schemes, so if you make modifications, you must click the Save As button, which allows you to create and name a new custom keyboard scheme. The list box shows all commands in Visual Studio .Net. You can use the edit field above it to specify a filter, so only a smaller set of commands is displayed. Selecting a command in the list box displays the command shortcut assigned to it for this scheme in the Shortcut(s) for selected command drop-down list. You can select a shortcut in this drop-down list and click the Remove button to get rid of the assigned shortcut. To create a new shortcut, press the key (combination) in the Press shortcut key(s) edit field. You can then assign the context for this shortcut in the Use new shortcut in drop-down list. Global means the shortcut works in any context within Visual Studio .NET. Alternately, you can select to have the shortcut work only in certain editor/design windows, such as the HTML Editor or XML Editor. Click the Assign button to apply the new shortcut to the selected command. If you select a key (combination) that is already in use, you will see the command it is assigned to in the Shortcut currently used by drop-down list.

The issue of revision in the filename is so contentious and so many people have had to confront it, that several methods exist to deal with it: n The current revision is left without the revision in the filename. When you create a new revision, you save the old revision using the Save As Copy command, and the revision is added to the filename. If you send any files out of the company, they are sent as an eDrawing with a revision in the filename. This has the advantage that the assembly will never reference the wrong part file. The downside of this method is the same as any other manual file management technique: the method is only as good as the discipline of the people using it. This is my preferred method of manual file management. n Only archive drawings, not models. This can easily be done with either eDrawings or PDF documents. This works if you make drawings of your parts, and you are making drawings when you start the revision scheme on the models. n Configurations. I have seen people use this method, although I cannot imagine how they made it work without losing a lot of current or past work, besides the fact that drawings do not have configurations. I do not recommend this method. n Use a PDM system. Almost every objection that you can come up with for any of these manual techniques is resolved by a using a PDM system. In the end, that is the only answer that can give you a high level of confidence. The purchase of a simple PDM application is less expensive than a single documentation mistake.
Because SQL is a set-oriented environment, every trigger must be written to handle DML statements that affect multiple rows. The best way to deal with multiple rows is to work with the Inserted and Deleted tables with set-oriented operations.

From a modeling point of view, sub-weldments are generally used for either organizational or performance reasons to group together elements of a weldment or to break a larger weldment into more manageable pieces. This is in much the same way that subassemblies are created for the same purposes within larger assemblies. From a fabrication point of view, sub-weldments are also used to break a large weldment into pieces that can be transported or handled. To create a sub-weldment, you can select several bodies from the Cut list, and then select Create Sub-Weldment from the RMB menu. (You can also select the bodies from the graphics window if you use the Select Bodies selection filter.) This creates a separate folder for the sub-weldment bodies. You can then right-click the sub-weldment folder and select Insert Into New Part.
The Header and Footer dialog box appears.
So, in the hellostyle.css file, you can currently see two groups of tags: those for any page (such as the body, h1, and p selectors) and those for the tables. So, prior to the start of the table s styling tags, I ve placed this comment:
