Another advantage of having separate user accounts is that each user can set options for folders, desktop settings, or Internet Explorer settings that are unique for their user account. Depending on your setup, creating user accounts can be either simple or potentially confusing. If you are a home user, setting up a user account is as easy as clicking a button in the Control Panel and working with a wizard. On the other hand, if you are a professional user who is using Windows Vista over an office network and working over a domain, you must create a domain user account and not a local user account (like you would for home use). If you are using a workgroup, you must create the same user account on any computer that you will be using. You should also determine what kind of account type you want. When you installed Windows Vista, you created an initial account for your computer. By default, this account was given Administrator status. You may want to create a second account for yourself, or perhaps for a friend or relative. In this case, we advise that you give these users Standard user access. Standard user accounts have many of the same privileges as the Administrator; however, any changes made are not system-wide. This prevents unauthorized users who do not or should not have Administrator access from doing things they should not, such as changing passwords.

Figure 13-13: Uh-oh: it s time to upgrade. You will only see this dialog if your PC does not meet the performance requirements for the application. These requirements include 1GB of RAM, a singlecore 2.4 GHz or faster processor, and a video card that supports DirectX 9.0c (or later) and Pixel Shader 2.0 (or later). But we don t want to get bogged down in technical jargon here. If you have a reasonably modern computer, you ll have no issues with Movie Maker. We ve successfully run Windows Live Movie Maker on a low-end netbook featuring a dual-core Atom processor running at just 1.6 GHz and utilizing integrated graphics, for example. So if you do see this dialog, you probably shouldn t even be running Windows 7.

low-to-high transition through the PMOS, the voltage of the load capacitor rises from 0 to Vdd. While part of the energy is stored in the load capacitor, the remainder of the energy drawn from the power supply is dissipated into the PMOS device. During the high-to-low transition, the capacitor is discharged and the stored energy is dissipated through the NMOS transistor. If the gate is switched ON and OFFftimes per second, the power consumption equals

Fig. 5.39 Figure 5.39 depicts a tree. Each nonterminal vertex is marked with a large dot, and each terminal vertex with a small dot. (a) What is the relationship in any tree between the total number of large and small dots and the total number of line segments (b) Given that carbon atoms attach to four other atoms, i.e. have a valency of 4, and hydrogen atoms attach to only one other (and so have valency 1), why must the general formula for a paraffin with n carbon atoms include 2n + 2 hydrogen atoms (c) How can a paraffin molecule be changed to include a number of oxygen atoms (Oxygen has a valency of 2.)
