to use recursive queries by default (with the exception of slave servers), and this operation may fail if certain configuration parameters are incorrect. DNS servers use Root Hints to discover other DNS servers in the DNS hierarchy. Root Hints are stored in the cache.dns file located in the <system root>\winnt\system32\Dns folder. It is assumed that your network implementation is a private network, so this file may be populated with the local root server information in order to help the process of discovery. DNS servers that act as Internet resolvers will want to keep this file intact. Can the server that is authoritative for the record PING the root server This is important in the grand scheme of your overall DNS design. Child-domain DNS servers authoritative for a zone must be able to move up the hierarchy to resolve names throughout the enterprise. Check for simple IP connectivity using the PING utility from one server to another until a broken link is identified. Often this is a physical network problem and not a configuration issue with the DNS server(s). For the most part, checking these items should resolve most of the common problems experienced with a DNS system. For advanced troubleshooting and configuration tips, check the DNS help system or Microsoft s Web site for the latest information.

Sometimes you do not want a rib extended to the wall of the part. You may want to terminate a rib at a specific location in the middle of the part. The way to do this is to use a skyline rib and end the skyline sketch with a vertical (plus or minus draft) line that points to the base of the part. Figure 32.9 shows how to accomplish this. Notice that on the left end of the rib, it is extended straight down to the bottom of the part, and on the right side of the rib, it is extended up to the next wall.

As you can see, this is just a harmless chunk of Ruby-enhanced HTML. Where you require access to the variables that are passed in, they re available. Part of the brilliance of these partials is that you can pass in different variables. In the preceding example, you have the default setting for the partial; if the @contacts variable is present, then the partial is displayed. But remember what happens when you use the partial with your RJS methods. That @contacts variable is set when a line in the clients table is clicked, the contacts method is fired in the controller, the contacts.rjs file is executed, and the contacts.html.erb partial is put into play. It may feel like a lot of steps, but this arrangement of files separates the vital aspects of your interaction between controller and view.

IP addresses (or the equivalent FQDNs Section 20.2.2) uniquely identify hosts, but a host may contain multiple Internet resources (applications). An addressing scheme with ner resolution is therefore needed so a user can identify an application within a host. The IETF has de ned such an addressing scheme, called URI (uniform resource identi er) in its more general form [15] and URL (uniform resource locator) [16] in its most widely used form. A URI/URL can be viewed as a user-friendlier form of a TCP/UDP socket, similar to how a domain name is a user-friendlier form of an IP address. URIs and URLs are used and processed by applications (Layer 7). URI is a character string that identi es a resource by name or location, with components separated by / in case of a hierarchical structure. URL is the subset of URI that identi es the resource by location in the network. The standard form of a URL for IP networks is ==kuserl : kpasswordl@khostl : kportl=kurl-pathl Source: RFC 1738 16 Not all URL parameters are mandatory. The host parameter is an IP address or a FQDN.

The format of the PivotTable Field List for a relational data source is simply one field per column, whereas multidimensional sources display a list with dimensions on top and measures on the bottom. Measures can only be displayed in the data (center) portion of the PivotTable, whereas dimensions can be placed as a row, column, or page header. Note the difference in icons between dimensions and measures to aid in identification. Each field placed on the PivotTable is anchored under a field header that includes a dropdown. The drop-down for row and column headers displays a value selection tree that provides several methods for selecting values: Clicking Show All Items will place a single check mark on any unchecked values. Removing a check mark excludes that value from display; a single check mark selects a value for display; and a double check mark indicates that one or more children have been selected for display. Figure 48-5 provides an example of this selection behavior. Child members and double check marks are not available for relational data sources and single-level dimensions.

Multiantenna Systems
This concept is important, and so I will repeat it: Multi-body modeling is not assembly modeling. Many times when new users are introduced to the capabilities of multi-body modeling, the first thought that comes to mind is, This is far easier than making assemblies. However, multi-body modeling should not be treated as a replacement for assembly modeling. Several assembly type functions are missing or more difficult to obtain from multi-bodies. They include the following:
Appearance overrides are discussed in 3, but I will briefly summarize it here, showing the lowest priority at the top: n Part n Body n Feature n Face n Component If you override the appearance or display mode for a component in a subassembly, and the upperleft triangle appears in the Display Pane, you can remove the override through either the leftmouse button (LMB) or right-mouse button (RMB) menu. Figure 14.2 shows the LMB menu from a component of a subassembly with overrides.
