Mirror Entities works by selecting the entities that you want to mirror along with a single centerline, and clicking the Mirror Entities button on the Sketch toolbar. You can use this simple and effective tool on existing geometry. This method is the fastest way to use the tool but there are other methods. You can pre-select or post-select, using a dialog box to select the mirror line, which does not need to be a centerline. One feature of Mirror Entities may sometimes cause unexpected results. For example, in some situations, Mirror Entities will mirror a line or an arc and merge the new element with the old one across the centerline. This happens in situations where the mirror and the original form a single line or a single arc. SolidWorks may delete certain relations and dimensions in these situations.

Strip detectors can be, in principle, made on other semiconductor materials like Ge, GaAs, CdTe and CdZnTe. A signi cant difference between silicon and other semiconductor materials is due to different technological processes used for manufacturing the detectors. The position sensitive structures on Ge, GaAs, CdTe and CdZnTe are developed at various research institutes but none of these developments has reached an industrial standard yet. A consequence of such a situation is that minimal strip pitch achievable in strip detectors using those materials is rather large compared to what can be obtained in silicon technology. The limitation on the minimal strip pitch is not only due to precision of the strip patterns but also due to electrical separation of the strips. The electrical character of electrode contacts in those detectors built on semiinsulating materials is not always well de ned. They can be either ohmic or Schottky contacts and electrical separation of strips relies on very high intrinsic resistivity of the sensor material. High purity Ge is a good sensor material with respect to many parameters and detection properties of this material are well understood. The single-sided and double-sided Ge strip detectors have been built, however, the smallest strip pitch reported is 2 mm (Protic et al., 2001).
