After you have configured your library to allow access to other devices or computers, you are ready to use these other devices to select which content to play. With a networked digital media player, such as an Xbox 360, you will need to use the device s remote control to find the computer that is sharing your content and then browse for the content that you want to play. For full details about how to do so, consult the documentation that came with your device.

You can also use mates to drive configured positions of the assembly using a series of angle mates. This makes it more difficult because to get to a particular location, you have to do some calculations, but the angle mates appear to be more stable than simply relying on moving the parts to unconstrained positions. If you cycle through the derived configurations under the Indirect top-level configuration, notice that mates are not suppressed and unsuppressed, rather the values are changed. This makes it somewhat more difficult to precisely position the grippers, but because it is specific about the positions of the individual parts, there is no ambiguity.

One interesting side note: while Windows Media Player works nicely with shared media libraries on other PCs thanks to its integration with Windows 7 s HomeGroup functionality, Zune doesn t really offer any way to directly share content with other instances of the Zune software. For example, say you have Zune installed on two different PCs, both of which are connected to your home network, and you ve decided to manage your music collection with this software. Even though Windows might be sharing your content on both PCs, the Zune software on either PC will never see the collection on the other. To do that, you have to use Windows Media Player. This, too, is another one of those areas in which the evolving nature of the Zune software makes it a little less viable as your sole solution for managing digital media content.

The Active Directory is based on directory standards, particularly the X.500 specification. Objects in the directory are not only defined by the attributes associated with them, but also have a unique identifier associated with them called an Object Identifier (OID). This is a number definitively identifying the object class or attribute to the directory service. OIDs are not randomly generated numbers; rather, they are issues based on standards organizations or issuing authorities. These numbers help to define the hierarchy and are represented by a dotted decimal notation similar to that used in IP addressing. In order to create unique objects in the directory, organizations may obtain a root OID structure from an issuing authority. Since these are not randomly generated and are meaningful to the directory, it is logical to assume that in order to extend the use of the director, an OID must be obtained first. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is the issuing authority for the United States. This further explains the difference in the administrative tasks of creating objects and defining attributes in the directory, and actually modifying the schema to add new class objects. The addition of directory structural components is carried out using the ADUC console, and the schema predefines creation of these objects. Extending the schema to contain unique objects requires the use of OIDs, and is, therefore, not a common task. Randomly assigning OIDs to new object classes has serious repercussions to the directory. OIDs for object classes are viewed from the ADS console by doubleclicking the particular object class as shown in Figure 14.8.

When you decide whether to keep or delete the files, Windows XP asks you to confirm the deletion before going forward. Unfortunately, Windows Vista does not provide a gentle reminder that once the account is gone, it s gone (unless you have a backup). Like the other options, after you execute this command, you return automatically to the User Accounts window.
