input the data on a case-by-case basis. The fact that a productivity tool may be used to alter the data of the fields means that arbitrary tasks such as creating the comma-delimited file may be done by administrative assistants. As stated, these tools work for creation, deletion, and modification of many directory object types, and they benefit the administrator by saving time not only through the batch act itself, but offering the ability to outsource the creation of the object file to another source

It is a best practice to create a folder for library type files that you want to save and use with a future version of SolidWorks. You can specify the locations for these files through Tools, Options, File Locations. I recommend a location such as D:\Library. This moves the file off of the same drive as the operating system, in case you need to reformat, and it keeps it out of the Program Files area to prevent it from being lost or overwritten when SolidWorks is installed, uninstalled, upgraded, or changed in other ways. Even for files that need to remain in the SolidWorks installation directory (such as macros) it is best to also have these backed up in a library location.

Within each calendar, you can create various events. An event is an appointment or other occasion that occurs on a specific date or over a range of dates. Events can have static beginning and ending times for example, a meeting that runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or be all-day events. Events also have other characteristics. For example, you might create an event for something that occurs repeatedly, such as a birthday or anniversary. There are various ways to create a new event in Calendar, but how you do so matters little because you can change any event details during the creation process. For example, suppose you want to schedule a meeting for 9:00 a.m. next Monday. One way to do so would be to select the appropriate calendar and then navigate to the specific date in Day view. Then, position the mouse cursor over the time at which you d like the appointment to begin, and double-click to start creating the new appointment. As shown in Figure 22-17, the New Event window appears, letting you enter details about the event.
