The Form_Close event illustrated in Figure 12.9 first checks to see if the form frmDialogProductPrint is open. If it is open, the statement to close it executes. Although trying to close a form that isn t currently open doesn t cause an error, it s a good idea to check to see if an object is available before performing an operation on the object.

your customers know what they want, when they want it, at what price, and via what delivery process. The customer is changing. David Brooks observed in a recent New York Times column: There used to be four common life phases: childhood, adolescence, adulthood; and old age. Now, there are at least six: childhood, adolescence, odyssey, adulthood, active retirement; and old age. 13
When you are previewing a complex animation sequence in a viewport, slow updates can affect the timing of the animation. This can make proofing your work difficult and would require many additional, fully rendered tasks. The feature in Max that addresses this issue is called Adaptive Degradation, and although it sounds like a weapon that some alien might use to disarm you, it enables you to force a viewport to display at a pre-specified number of frames per second. If the display update takes too long to maintain this rate, then it automatically degrades the rendering level in order to maintain the frame rate. This option is very helpful because when you re testing an animation, you are not as concerned about the model details or textures. The Adaptive Degradation panel is available in the Viewport Configuration dialog box, as shown in Figure 2-19.

The first step is usually to get all the video clips that you want your movie to show into the Storyboard. You can use any clips from any collection they don t all have to come from the same collection. To add a clip to the Storyboard, do whichever is most convenient for you: n Drag any one clip from the contents pane to the Storyboard. n Or right-click any one clip and choose Add To Storyboard. n Or select multiple clips and drag any one of them to the Storyboard, or right-click any one of them and choose Add to Storyboard, or press Ctrl+D. Figure 25.9 shows an example in which I ve added many clips to the Storyboard. FIGURE 25.9
