TLFeBOOK
Edwards, G., Gross, M.M., Keller, M., Moser, J. & Room, R. (Eds) (1977). Alcohol-related Disabilities. Geneva: World Health Organization. This publications gives a good account of the thinking that separated alcohol dependence from alcohol-related problems. There are useful de nitions and reference to some of the classic studies of alcohol withdrawal problems. Stahl, S.M. (1996). Essential Pharmacology: Neuroscienti c Basis and Practical Applications. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. This is a richly illustrated book which offers a very understandable account of neurochemical mechanisms. The book is not speci c to alcohol but rather gives an excellent overview of the principal neurochemical pathways and the mechanisms of pharmacotherapies for mental illness problems. Heather, N. & Robertson, I. (1997). Problem Drinking, 3rd edn. Oxford: Oxford University Press. This easy to read book summarizes the evidence which supports the view that problem drinking is primarily a learned behaviour. An understanding of these arguments is necessary in order to set the management of withdrawal symptoms in the broader treatment context. Institute of Medicine (1990). Broadening the Base of Treatment for Alcohol Problems. Washington, DC: National Academy Press. This book contains some interesting analysis of key issues that have challenged the expanding alcohol treatment eld. Detoxi cation services are mentioned in several sections but it is the introduction to needs analysis and cost bene ts that may be of particular interest.
Last but Certainly Not Least: Sarbanes-Oxley
Beef, lamb, veal, and pork may be purchased in some or all of these forms. Mutton and goat are also given NAMP classification numbers, as indicated in Table 10.2, but they have minimal importance in North American food service and are not covered here.

This illustration shows a query-response model, which will use a flow in each direction. There can be different service contracts in each direction. For example, in most Web applications, there is a small query, the URL request, in one direction, which should have a small Tspec. The larger response would have a larger Tspec. Service contracts, in both the IETF and ATM Forum, include two major categories, guaranteed service (GS) and best effort (BE). There are subcategories of each, and, even if you are not using the specific technology of the group that defined them, understanding the categories and subcategories will add to your general understanding of QoS. Figure 3.3 shows the ATM structure and its rough relationships to the IETF structure. The GS branch of the ATM service tree includes the constant bit rate (CBR) service, which is used to provision circuit emulation service (CES). CES is intended as a way to provision a customer facility that appears to be a physical T1/E1 service, with all the characteristics of a dedicated line. Variable bit rate (VBR) services are highly reliable, predictable services that have wider tolerance for delay than does CBR. Not shown in this figure are the subcategories of real-time and non-real-time VBR.
